80′s Costume Ideas: Madonna

If you are the girl who is **** and daring, the Madonna style would be the perfect costume for you. Madonna built a style that could still be worn casually up until now. This style was very popular in the 80′s that many girls emulated this. She was one of those popular people who had built a foundation in fashion.

Feel like dressing up same way as her in the Lucky Star or Like a Virgin? It’s easy.

First dye your hair blonde, and curl it. Tease it until it’s so big you’d feel like there’s a balloon atop your head. It can be tied at the side, like a flirty *********** or just left messy like a bad girl without a care for the world. You could wear big bows, could be colorful ones, or black.

Madonna likes to show what she’s got, and you shouldn’t be afraid to do the same. Wear tank tops designed with layers and lots of laces that shows how blessed you are in the chest department. Match this with miniskirts (could be leather), and wear lacy leggings embroidered with pretty designs. If you feel like it’s too cold to wear tank tops, wear a leather jacket with shoulder pads. Choose ones that are designed with chains, and keep it open to still show off that chest.

Next, push up those bangles and rubber bracelets and wear lacy fingerless gloves. Wear several rings in fingers, preferably ones designed with big stones. Wear equally big earrings. Madonna loved long chains with crosses for pendants. You could wear necklaces with matching dangling earrings using these pendants.

Remember, these accessories must be worn, or you won’t get the complete desired look.

Wear make-ups that will match your look. Sharpen that eyeliner and make sure to wear a lot of make-up. A nice red lipstick would give you the pout you wish to have.

To match these set of clothes, choose an ankle-length boots or lace-up boots. Anything would do, either way you’d look ****.

And now you’re all prepped up, be sure you still remember some songs; they might ask you to do a song number!

Adoption And Foster Care – A Background

Posted on December 31, 2010
Colby Brister asked:

You do not have to be a celebrity like Angelina Jolie or Madonna to become an adoptive parent or a foster parent. All you need is to have a big heart, a kind soul, patience that stretches 360 degrees, and a steady means of income. Adoption and foster care is a challenging endeavor that should be anchored on sound decision and not on whim or impulse.

Although both pertain to child care for persons other than your natural born children, there are major differences between adopting and fostering particularly when you consider the legal and social aspects. An adopted child becomes part of your family permanently and will bear your family name. You take over all legal responsibilities in providing for the child in the same way as you would with your natural born children. The child’s birth parents will have no legal rights whatsoever, and the child becomes an heir to your estate equal to that of your legitimate children. You accept the child as your very own and raise him or her in an environment of unconditional love.

Fostering on the other hand may be temporary because the ultimate goal is for the child to reunite with his or her birth families. You are just there for the interim primarily to give emotional support after a family crisis until the child and the birth parents or families are emotionally and psychologically capable to live together in a functional or more stable family environment. Any and all decisions with regard to the welfare of the child while in foster care lies with the social service agencies in the respective jurisdiction. A social worker will work closely with you in the entire duration that the child is in your foster care.

Children who are victims of parental abuse and or neglect are placed under foster care either voluntarily by the parents or legal guardian or as determined by the court. These children can be infants, older children and teenagers up to 18 years of age. A great number of them may have been traumatized due to physical, verbal and sexual abuse while others suffer malnutrition and chronic health problems as a result of utter neglect because the parents may be drug addicts, alcoholics or are mentally challenged.

Foster children who do not get reunited with their biological parents may stay under permanent foster care until they are 18 years of age while others get adopted. There are laws like in the U.S. where a child can only remain under foster care for a limited time only after which they become available for adoption. The main objective is to provide a more permanent family setting for the child at the soonest time possible for their utmost welfare.

If you have seen the film, “The Blind Side” starring Sandra Bullock, it is a beautiful story on adoption and foster care and revolves on the success of a white family fostering a troubled African American teenager and eventually adopting him legally, while giving him all the love and care that they also showered to their two biological children. The fostered/adopted child became a football university scholar and when he graduated, he was drafted to the U.S. National Football League (NFL) where he is currently a professional football player. It is a true to life story that reminds all of us that if you have a big heart with a persevering spirit, there is always hope for a lost child.
