However, a Belgian newspaper is reporting that Madonna has “no comments” for what she dubbed as Gaga’s “obsession” with her. Answering questions at the Venice FilmFestival about her critically panned film WE a reporter asked Madonna about fans admiring her, including Lady Gaga, and the superstar doesn’t seem flattered by the attention. “As for Lady Gaga, I have no comment on her obsessions related to me, because I do not know if it is based on something profound or superficial.” Gaga has been outspoken in her admiration for Madonna, gushing to talk show host Jay Leno: “There is really no one that is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan personally and professionally.” The apparent dis at Gaga comes at the same time the pop diva announced that she’d “started a little bit of work in the studio” on her as-yet-untitled 12th album, with the first single pegged for a February or March release.
